Mass of the Holy Spirit and Centennial Catholic Lecture Series with Cardinal Theodore McCarrickCardinal Theodore McCarrick, the archbishop of Washington, D.C., from 2001 to 2006, will celebrate Carroll's annual Mass of the Holy Spirit. While on campus, the cardinal will serve as the inaugural guest speaker for the Carroll Centennial Lecture Series. As a champion of human rights, humanitarianism, pastoral care for migrants and scholarships for Catholic education, he will discuss and offer opportunity for dialog on the value of a Catholic education in contemporary society and the importance of commitment to service.

Centennial Homecoming
Join ALL CLASS YEARS as we celebrate a Century of Memories.
The weekend will be packed with fun events, time for visiting classmates and reminiscing. Highlights include the Alumni Awards Banquet, Century of Champions Hall of Fame Banquet, alumni organized 5K fun run, class pictures, and National Champion Saints football. Saturday night, step back in time on "Scullon field" with highlights from the history of entertainment and homecomings at Carroll: 1950s Sunday radio talk show, 1960s Carrolleers, Homecoming floats, painting the C, Eggel Kneggel, the Borro Boys Serenaders and much more! Close the evening listening and dancing to Rob Quist (you do remember the Mission Mountain Wood Band). Come early and stay late.

Centennial Art Shows
During Homecoming 2009 the Carroll Gallery will feature alumni original works by Yumi Kiyose, Mary Larson and Michele Firpo-Capiello. Throughout the year, the gallery will feature selections from the collections of President Tom Trebon, Professors Sam Alvey, Kyle Strode, and Joe Munzenrider, and Board and former Board members Alan and Nancy Nicholson, Bill and Harlan Shropshire, Joan Holter, Jean Baucus, and Robert Peccia.

Interfaith Symposium
To Each a Key: Unlocking the Door to Interfaith Harmony
The Carroll College Departments of Theology and Philosophy organized a three-day event to explore the keys that open beliefs of Christians, Muslims, and Jews to interreligious harmony. Keynote speakers include: Mohammed Elsanousi, director of communications, for the Islamic Society of North America; Jill Carroll, associate director of the Boniuk Center for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance; and Joseph Subbiondo, president of the California Institute for Integral Studies. Entertainment features Zvek Ensemble (original Ladino and Middle Eastern music) and an opening night 13th century Mediterranean buffet.

Victoria Marks Dance Presents
The Relationship of Faith and Science in a Catholic College
Victoria Marks, nationally acclaimed choreographer from UCLA, and Ed Noonan, playwright and poet, will present a performance of work created from discussions with Carroll faculty and staff. The work focuses the theory of evolution and how it relates to faith. Dance and movement will accompany the thoughts and wisdom of the Carroll community in a unique performance for Carroll's centennial year.

100,000 Hours of Service Celebration
For Carroll students, alumni, faculty and staff, service becomes a part of each person's life commitment-volunteering at churches, schools, hospitals, and their favorite non-profit organizations. Many alumni say that their time at Carroll was a life-changing experience-creating lessons on the importance of giving to others. The Carroll family will be recording their volunteer hours for an 18-month period to demonstrate the value to society of a Carroll education. Log your volunteer hours.

Centennial Catholic Lecture Series-Cardinal Francis George
Cardinal Francis George, archbishop of Chicago, will present a keynote address on the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, honoring the ideals of Carroll College during its 100th year celebration. Cardinal George is the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and served as a delegate at the 2008 World Synod of Bishops on "The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church." Because of his fervent energy in promoting ministry and missions worldwide, his presence on our campus will celebrate the many Carroll College alumni who have devoted their lives to serving the neediest in the human family across the globe.

Traces: Montana's Frontier Re-visited
New photographs by Richard S. Buswell, ‘66
Impeccably printed black-and-white silver gelatin prints examine the artifacts left behind by Montana's early miners, ranchers, and homesteaders. Traces is travelling throughout Montana and beyond. Dr. S. Richard Buswell, a full-time practicing physician, has spent the last 30 years photographing frontier artifacts and published three books.  His work has been acquired by many national museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, the Library of Congress, Harvard University's Fogg Art Museum and the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art.

Manion Symposium
Carroll Manion Chair Dr. Gerald Shields, along with Dr. John Thomas, Dr. Con Lacey, Dr. LeRoy Byrd, Dr. Don Olson and retired professors Guido Bugni and Monsignor Joe Harrington, is planning the Centennial Manion Symposium in conjunction with the Gala celebration. Initial plans include a professional lecture, panel discussion, honor student presentations, a reunion dinner and participation in the commencement events.

Commencement and Baccalaureate Mass
Commencement 2010 will signify the 100th graduating class. Golden Graduates will be honored along with Centennial Award recipients and Centennial Saints.

Centennial Gala
The closing celebration will be a gala extravaganza held in Helena, Montana. All alumni, graduates, dignitaries, and special guests will be honored at an elegant dinner with live entertainment and dancing-the Event of the Century.

"Treasures of Italy," escorted by Fr. Dan Shea, associate professor of languages.
