In his senior year at Carroll, Ryan Brosseau, worked as a newspaper advertising sales representative for the local paper. He worked about 40 hours a week, in between a full load of business classes. Brosseau says there is nothing like the real world. "What it's going to be like in working environment, the communication between co-workers and clients, you just can't teach that."
The CEO Club is involved in cooperative education employment and provides business experience for students through many club projects. For example, members have completed a marketing survey for a local financial institution and participated in a project researching ATM machines on campus. In addition to academic and career-orientated activities, the club also arranges social functions for students and faculty.
Carroll College offers several different opportunities to travel abroad each year, including a trip led by Bethalee Wilson, associate professor of accounting, business, and economics. Wilson and students have traveled to Chaing Mai, Thailand and Hanoi, Vietnam. The students met with local business people to discuss Asian business concepts, visited numerous factories, and explored museums, pagodas, and night markets.
