Given current American health trends, there is great urgency in helping this and future generations of children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens to create healthier life styles inclusive of physical activity and exercise. As a result, degrees in Health & Physical Education (HPE) and Health & Physical Education (K-12) and the employment opportunities associated with them are expected to grow in importance.
The Health and Physical Education (K-12) major provides students with a diverse range of instruction and opportunities within the areas of health, physical education, exercise sciences, recreation and teaching methods. This degree serves as the gateway to qualification for state certification to teach classes from Kindergarten through twelfth grade.
