Kelly Cline

Assistant Professor, earned his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Colorado. His research interests involve mathematical models of the sun. He takes a special interest in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling. During his free time he enjoys gardening, piano, and traveling.

Courses Taught: Engineering Physics, Probability and Statistics, Numerical Computing and Visualization, and Differential Equations and Linear Algebra  II.

 

Jack Oberweiser


Associate Professor, received his M.A.T. in mathematics from the University of Montana. During his free time he plays guitar and keyboards for a local band, has taken in numerous foster children over the years and adopted two through working with the Montana Foster and Adoptive Parents Association, and he volunteers at the Florence Critttenton Home rocking babies for a few hours every week.

Courses Taught: Pre-calculus, Calculus I & II, Elementary Statistics, Mathematics for Elementary Education, Teaching Math in the Elementary School, and Teaching Math in the Secondary Schools

Mark Parker

Associate Professor, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. His interests include operations research, applied math, and finding ways to incorporate technology into teaching. During his free time, he enjoys family, hiking, cross-country skiing, and playing guitar.

Courses Taught: Mathematical Optimization, Operations Research, Multivariable Calculus, and Statistics.

Philip Rose

Professor, received his M.S. in computation from Oxford University. His special interests include cryptography, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Dickens, and musicals from the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s. During his free time he enjoys reading, stocking his woodpile, and trying unsuccessfully to clear the knapweed from his land.

Courses Taught: Introduction to Computer Science: C++Programming, Data Structures & Program Design, Computer Architecture, Senior Seminar, Foundations of Mathematics, Modern Applications of Discrete Mathematics, Elementary Statistics, and Calculus I&II.

Associate Professor, earned her Ph.D. at the University of Colorado - Denver. Her interests include operations research, discrete mathematics, the Mathematical Contest in Modeling, and analyzing the mathematics of card and board games. In her free time she enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, and backpacking.

Courses Taught: Abstract Algebra and Geometry; Calculus of Single Variable Functions; and Differential Equations and Linear Algebra I.
