UM's ROTC PROGRAM AMONG THE BEST!
For those who don't know, Carroll College Army ROTC's Saints Company is a part of the University of Montana Army ROTC program. U of M's Grizzly Battalion includes all of the cadets on the University of Montana campus in Missoula, as well as the cadets on Carroll's campus in Helena. Recently, the University of Montana's ROTC was recognized as the #5 ranked ROTC program in the nation, meaning that Carroll is too! SAINTS COMPANY GRADUATES
Recently Commissioned
-- Second Lieutenant Pat Beddow graduated with a B.A. in Business from Carroll, and will be attending his BOLC II and BOLC III courses in the spring of 2009. 2LT Beddow is currently working at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena.
-- Second Lieutenant Alex Frei is currently preparing for his NCLEX exam, before making his transition to Active Duty nursing early this fall. 2LT Frei will be stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, TX.
-- Second Lieutenant Marieke Min graduated with a B.A. in Political Science, and will be attending her BOLC II and BOLC III courses during the spring of 2009. 2LT Min is currently working in Billings.
2007 Commissionees
-- Second Lieutenant Kyle Borne is stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA as a Field Artillery Officer with F26 TAB as an XO.
-- Second Lieutenant Scout Murphy is now stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA. 2LT Murphy was also married to Marine Corps 2LT Justin Lappe on June 6th, 2008.
-- Second Lieutenant Kaleigh Huddy is currently working at the Carroll College ROTC Department, and will be until the spring of 2009, after which she will attend her BOLC II course, and Officer Basic Course at Ft. Sam Houston, TX.
-- Second Lieutenant Chauncey Parker will be attending his BOLC II training this spring, followed by his Officer Basic Course at Ft. Lee, Va. Upon completion of OBC, 2LT Parker will serve as a Montana National Guard Officer with a Quartermaster unit in Havre, MT.
-- Second Lieutenant Mark Thompson is currently stationed at Ft. Rucker, AL while attending Army Flight School.
WARRIOR FORGE
Three Saints Company cadets will attend the Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) at Fort Lewis, Washington, during summer 2009.Cadets Kristina Christensen, Curtis Cornelius and Ryan Kaizer will complete the demanding training course, which is justifiably called "Warrior Forge". The month-long course begins with an Army Physical Fitness Test and includes a variety of physically and emotionally challenging training events including leading squads and platoons on simulated combat missions.
