Saints soccer cruises past Northwest Christian 9-0

Carroll College ran wild against Northwest Christian for a 9-0 win at Nelson Stadium in their home opener Saturday.Seven different players scored led by two goals each from Bobbi Allard and Tayt Ellison.
“The big thing was we took advantage of Northwest having played yesterday,” Carroll coach Dave Thorvilson said. “We were deeper and stronger at every position. The girls were primed for a home game and the young girls got their first touches.”
The Saints, now 2-1 overall, took a while to get rolling as the first half was nearly 25 minutes along before they found the net.
Hannah Young scored the first goal and Carroll had two others in the half. They poured in six more in the second half.
Meghan O’Connell, Anna Curtin, Kellyi Benson and Rachael Lowe scored the other goals. Curtin, Young and O’Connell all had assists.
Carroll had 21 shots on goal to just eight for Northwest Christian. Carroll goalkeeper Katie Beall had seven saves.
