Senior Day Success
Helena, Mont.-Saturday November 1st saw the Saints end their regular season with a 3-0 win over the University of Great Falls as they honored three seniors. The weather was in the 60's and the football team on the road so the soccer team got to play a rare Saturday match and be home in front of a friendly crowd of about 400. Katie Joseph, Talya Lorenz, and Bobbi Allard played their last regular season matches of their careers and prior to playing in the Unaffiliated Tournament in a week and a half they have been part of 55-17-4 record winning 75% of the their games. The Saints found the back of the net in the 30th minute of play as Meghan O'Connell played a perfectly timed ball to a streaking Hannah Young who slotted the ball far post. Just 5 minute later the duo struck again as Meghan O'Connell struck a ball that Lindsey Saunders could not save as it bounced to a wide open Hannah Young for her second of the match. The ladies would take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The second half would be a little less thrilling but Meghan O'Connell would take a ball from Kellyi Benson for her 10th goal of the season in the 72nd minute of play. Katie Beall was credited with 4 saves and earned the clean sheet for Carroll. Lindsey Saudners came up with 10 saves on the losing end for the UGF Argo's. With the win the Saints earned a share of the Frontier Conference Championship. This marks the second strait year for the Saints and the win should allow them to host play-offs due to a stronger strength of schedule then the rest of the conference. "We played well today and UGF came out hard and gave us a tough match. It was honor to highlight our three seniors today and send them out with a win. This win will help give us momentum into the post season," stated coach Thorvilson.

Alumni Game Was A Big Success!
After the final whistle blew on Saturdays Alumni match both current and former Saints soccer players came off the field with smiles on their faces. For the alumni, it was the first time that many of these 21 ladies have seen each other and played together since the end of their carriers. For the current players it was a chance to get everyone in the game and get some touches on the ball. Although no official stats were kept or the score posted neither team was willing to concede the match so a draw seemed to be fair result.
"It was great to see so many former players come back and take part in this event. We had the top four goal scores in Carroll history on the pitch along with the top 5 all-time point leaders and the top 2 goal keepers playing for the alumni. It was a chance for the new freshman to be reminded on the past glories and give them a since of pride putting on the Carroll uniform," stated coach Thorvilson.
A special thanks to the fans, families, and the alumni office for making this event possible. The Saints will be in action for their first regular season game on Saturday August 30 in Olympia, WA were they will face power house Concordia-Portland.
