Welcome to the Office of Campus Computing and Information Technology

The Office of Campus Computing & Information Technology (CCIT) oversees all campus technology resources including the website, classroom and lab technology, academic technology, and phone services. CCIT works with faculty, staff, and students to incorporate academic technology, provide network access across campus, and develop new technology offerings -- among other things.

Technology planning and requests 2007-2008

Departmental technology requests for the 2007-2008 academic year will be solicited during the early part of Spring Semester 2007. Individual faculty and staff are asked to work their department chair or director and submit their requests to them. All requests for the department will be gathered by the chair or director and should be submitted to CCIT by March 1.

View a copy of the Technology Request Planning Guidelines. The link for the form can be found in the green Highlights box on the right-hand side of the screen.

We do operate on a 4 year replacement cycle for computers for full-time faculty and full-time staff positions. These upgrades will happen automatically and do not need to be requested through this process.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact your department chair or director or Loretta Andrews at 447-4508.

Computer questions

We've got answers! Check out the CCIT website for information on a myriad of issues.

  1. Get an Account. Stop in to the CCIT offices in O'Connell 113 to get started.
  2. The Square. This is our new web-based tool for registering for classes and paying your bills from any computer with Internet access. Check out the list of Frequently Asked Questions.
  3. Wireless Setup. Wireless internet is all over campus - get it set up on your computer today!

So You're Thinking About Getting a New Computer

Or you're wondering about bringing your new (or used) computer to campus this fall. Most computers work on our campus, but for a better idea what we do require, please check out the connection requirements. This will also tell you what cords, software, and computers you need.

We also emphasize the use of a virus scanner such as Norton or McAfee and regular windows updates (for PCs).

You may obtain further technical support by telephone at 447-HELP (4357) or by contacting one of the on-campus RTA's. If you need assistance using a computer in your residence hall, please contact the student Resident Technical Assistant -RTA - in your hall.
