Rafting the Clark Fork
Sunday, August 31, 2008
Cost: $65
The highlight of our fall adventures is a whitewater rafting trip on the Clark Fork River. A top outfitter will guide Carroll students on this exciting event. Just west of Missoula, the Clark Fork River picks up speed and tumbles into the Alberton Gorge, Montana's premier summer whitewater run. If you want flat out fun and the best whitewater raft trip in Montana, this is it! The scenery is amazing and includes billion-year-old cliffs carved out by the legendary ice age floods of Glacial Lake Missoula. Between rapids paddlers have a chance to swim, relax, and soak up the sun, and watch for eagles, osprey, and the occasional bear or moose. The trip fee includes transportation and lunch.
Expect to have fun on this trip! No prior experience in the outdoors is required. This trip will offer a good balance of physical challenge and fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Our adventures are led by experienced student leaders, college staff, and private outfitters who are committed to making your trip a safe and memorable one.
Beyond adventure in the wilderness this trip is designed to build community, increase individual confidence, and provide opportunities to discuss issues related to college life. All participants share responsibility for the success of the trip. If you are flexible, can maintain a fun attitude, like to be part of a team, and enjoy the rewards of physical effort then you’ll have a great time!
