As we all trickled back to Carroll after Spring Break the number one question everyone asks is "how was your break" and "what did you do?" Now if the title doesn't answer the first question I don't know what does, but what, asks you, can a person do to have that much fun? Well you are in luck my friend for I am going to tell you!!
It all started in wonderful little place of Missoula Montana where I had my last horse show of the year. I did pretty well getting two fourth places. But we had so much fun that weekend. We went to the mall, dinner, stayed at a really fun hotel and just made fun for ourselves.
The next thing I did was go back to Carroll for one day and the then on Tuesday my friend Matt and I headed out for his hometown of Spokane to stay for a few days. Now this was quite an adventure. One of our friends lent us his old Toyota Tercel that was from the 80's! It took us a while just to find it, we even went into the courthouse to ask for directions...kinda sketch. But finally we found it...... Now I can drive stick thanks to the fact that I have been driving a stick shift jeep since I was twelve seeing that I live in the country. But Matt does not have as much experience. So naturally I have to drive...but all of my stick driving experience did nothing to ready me for a very old car and the little tiny fact that there was no first gear!!!!!! To sum up a very long and stressful trip I will just say that emergency break starts on a hill from second gear with a car right behind you take years off your life in stress!!! But we made it to Spokane and back having a fun and relaxing trip even "bobsledding" the small car down the mountain passes. But my journey doesn't end here-
On Friday I pulled into the parking lot, then got out went to my room emptied my pack, filed it with warm clothes and got into my friends truck to go down to to a cabin by Red Lodge. It all took about ten minutes to get all of that done! My friend Cait has a cabin in the mountains by a little tiny town called Roscoe. Six of us and three dogs went there and had a blast and a half!!! We went down to the river one day and broke off huge pieces of ice and then had to try and get back to shore without falling in the river and getting wet. Tyler tempted fate by cracking off a significantly large float of ice and then as it started to float to the center of the icy river try and get off of it, in the process tipping it up and sort of slid/jumped to safety as the ice submerged!! Oh man we had a great time and ate tons of food and played lots of card games. But all good things must come to an end and I had to come back to Carroll that Sunday and host a prospective student and get back into the swing of things... after all I did have a test on Tuesday!!
Well I hope you all had great breaks and welcome back!!
