mexico mi amor

March 15, 2010

SO yep, I did what every college kid dreams of doing during spring break... I went to Mexico. Though, it was with my family and not a group of crazy college kids, I still loved it. We stayed at an all inclusive resort outside Cancun. For the most part I just chilled at the beach and soaked up the sun and relaxed (I have to admit I did drink a couple margaritas at the pool bar- hey, I was in Mexico it was a must!).

We also went to Tulum and saw the Mayan ruins and took out boats on the ocean. Our last day there I played in a big soccer match, or should I say futbol, and had a blast with some people that were WAY good, but they did tell me in their best English, "You play very well." So I didn't feel too inadequate.  I brushed up some of my Spanish skills from high school and even ordered our dinner one night all in Spanish. I'm thinking of taking a few classes here a Carroll. The week went by so fast and now all I'm left with is a tan and some cheesy souvenirs. It did leave me feeling rejuvenated and rested- it was a much needed break. That does not mean however that I was ready to come back to school today. I don't think you can ever feel ready to come back to school after spending a week on the beach, but I'm doing the best I can. Already had my advising meeting this afternoon to sign up for classes next fall... yep the one good thing about coming back after spring break is it means the semester is more than half over. I saw this outside a professor's office today and had to laugh. The warm weather is making everyone anxious for summer.

Hang in there-
