FELLOWSHIPS

HARVEY FELLOWS
The Harvey Fellows Program seeks applications from Christians engaging in graduate study at one of the "top five" institutions in its particular field and who will be entering a field that is underrepresented by Christians.  Harvey Fellows receive a stipend up to $16,000 which is awarded on the basis of merit and is renewable for up to a total of three years.  Applications are accepted annually from August 1 to November 1.  For more information or to receive an application, visit www.harveyfellows.org or call (703) 524-5620.

HUMANE STUDIES FELLOWSHIPS
The Institute for Humane Studies found at http://www.theihs.org awards Humane Studies Fellowships of up to $12,000 to support the work of outstanding graduate and undergraduate and students who are interested in or whose work explores the principles of a free society. Last year IHS awarded 120 scholarships totaling $450,000 to students pursuing degrees in the U.S. and abroad. International and domestic students who will be enrolled full-time for the 2006-2007 academic year are eligible to apply.

THE ARMY MATERIEL COMMAND FELLOWS PROGRAM
The AMC Fellows program is a fast-track program that provides an opportunity for a graduate education while beginning a career with AMC (Army Materiel Command). Interested students should fill out the Fellows Response Form at www.amccareers.com.

AMERICAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY CENTENNIAL FELLOWSHIPS
The AMS Centennial Research Fellowship Program makes awards annually to outstanding mathematicians to help further their careers in research.  The stipend for fellowships awarded for 2009-2010 is expected to be $75,000 with an additional expense allowance of about $7,500.  The deadline for receipt of applications is December 1.  Application and reference forms are available via the Internet at: http://www.ams.org/employment/centflyer.html

GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS IN THE PHYSICAL SCIENCES

The National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC) offers two fellowship programs: the Traditional NPSC Program and the Dissertation Support Program. The COnsortium comprises leading universities (who provide tuition and fees) and private corporations and governemental research laboratories (who provide stipends and two summers of employment). NEWHOUSE SCHOOL NEWSPAPER FELLOWSHIP AND APPRENTICESHIP FOR MINORITIES: SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY
The Newhouse Graduate Nuwspaper Fellowship and Apprenticeship for Minorities is a highly competitive 30-month program that provides two generous awards each year to minority students who have majored in subjects other than journalism as undergraduates. It is supported by the Newhouse Foundation. The winners study newspaper journalism on the master's level at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. The Claremont National Scholars receive full tuition plus a $20,000 annual stipend. Scholars may pursue the PhD in any of the disciplines offered in CGU's graduate schools: Arts and  Humanities, Behavioral and Organizational Sciences, Community and Global Health, Educational Studies, Information Systems and Technology, Management, Mathematical Sciences, Politics and Economics, and Religion. LATINO AND NATIVE AMERICAN LIBRARY SCHOOL PROGRAM
The University of Arizona School of Information Resources and Library Science (SIRLS) is pleased to announce it is now recruiting students for Knowledge River--a Master's Degree program leading to an exciting career as an information professional, focusing on the information and library needs and perspectives of Hispanics and Native Americans. Students accepted into Knowledge River will receive full tuition and a generous graduate assistantship or stipend for one academic year, in addition to other special program features. FEDERAL PERKINS LOANS

Eligible students

* Priority given to students with greatest financial need
* Undergraduate or graduate students
* Must be Federal Pell Grant eligible

Annual and aggregate loan limits -- $4,000 annually for undergraduates; $20,000 aggregate for undergraduates

- Interest rate: 5%
- Nine-month grace period
- Deferment and cancellation provisions available

OTHER TYPES OF FEDERAL LOANS

Subsidized Stafford -- Must qualify for “need” based on your FAFSA filing.

Unsubsidized Stafford -- Need is not a consideration but a FAFSA must be filed

Annual Loan Limits for Federal Stafford loan (subsidized and unsubsidized)

* $2,625 (1st year undergraduates)
* $3,500 (2nd year undergraduates)
* $5,500 (each remaining year of undergraduate study)
* $8,500 (each year of graduate/professional study)
