Free Skiing- Stephanie Knisley: 406-324-2043 sknisley@helena.k12.mt.us
The School Age Child Care (SACC) Program is in need of capable (and patient) skiers. We have four ski days during the winter break (Dec. 22,23,29 & 30). At this time we do not have a definite number of participants but in previous years we could have up to 75+. grades K through 5th.
We normally leave by bus from Four Georgians at 8:00 A.M. each morning and return to Helena approximately 4- 4:30 P.M.
SACC will provide volunteers with rental skis, ski lift tickets and lunch plus the warm fuzzy feel good experience of assisting young children, in perhaps their first ski experience.
Ski instruction is provided to the children. Staff and volunteers are primarily assisting instructors by keeping children on task. Once children have the basic skills down (snow plow, turning) our staff and volunteers take them (based on ability) up on the lifts to the various runs.
