2008-09 Student Handbooks Have Arrived!
The 2008-09 Carroll College Student Handbooks consists of a dayplanner with campus events, college policies, judicial procedures, emergency procedures and important phone numbers. Students living in campus housing will receive their copy from their CA. Students living off campus will be able to pick up a copy in the Student Life Office in 208 O'Connell Hall. Faculty and staff will each receive a copy in campus mail. Please pick your copy up so we can save on having to mail them. Thanks!!
Freshmen Class Retreat
The Freshmen Class Retreat will be held this weekend, September 5th-7th at Legendary Lodge on Salmon Lake. Mass of the Holy Spirit Scheduled for Sept. 14th
The Mass of the Holy Spirit, to celebrate the new academic year, has been scheduled for Sunday, September 14th at 7pm at the Cathedral of St. Helena. Bishop George Leo Thomas, Carroll alum and bishop of the Diocese of Helena, will celebrate the Eucharist with Carroll faculty, staff and students. Faculty and staff will march in cap and gown. Dress for students is casual.
Sophomore Class Retreat
The Sophomore Class Retreat will be held on September 19th-21st at Legendary Lodge on Salmon Lake. Sign-up in Campus Ministry to attend. Take Good Care of Your Health
If over-the-counter medications are not helping you fight the cold, cough or flu bug that hit you over the weekend, contact the Health Center at Ph. 5441 for an appointment to see a nurse. The Health Center has two nurses on staff to assist you, Kathleen Trudnowski, RN, and Erin Kuntzweiler, RN, as well as a nurse practitioner, Denise Smigaj, who offers clinics each Tuesday.

Student Handbook 2008-09
The Carroll College Student Handbook contains the rules, regulations and policies that establish the official parameters for student life at Carroll College. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of these expectations and conduct themselves accordingly as members of the Carroll College community. All the rules and regulations are in affect for students on and off the campus. Responsible behavior is expected of Carroll College students wherever they may be.
Carroll Code of Student Conduct
The Carroll Code applies to conduct that occurs on College premises and at College sponsored activities, and to off-campus conduct that adversely affects the College community or the pursuit of its objectives. Each students is responsible for his/her conduct from the time of application for admission through the actual awarding of a degree, even though conduct may occur before classes begin or after classes end, as well as during the entire academic year and during periods between terms of actual enrollment (and even if their conduct is not discovered until after a degree is awarded). The Carroll Code shall apply to a student's conduct even if the student withdraws or graduates from school while a disciplinary matter is pending. The Vice President for Student Life shall decide whether the Carroll Code should be applied to conduct occurring off-campus, on a case-by-case basis, in his/her sole discretion.
Core Alcohol and Drug Survey
The Core Alcohol and Drug Survey was developed to measure alcohol and other drug usage, attitudes, and perceptions among college students at two and four-year institutions. Development of this survey was funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The survey includes several types of items about drugs and alcohol. One type deals with the students' attitudes, perceptions, and opinions about alcohol and other drugs, and the other deals with the students' own use and consequences of use. There are also several items on students' demographic and background characteristics as well as perception of campus climate issues and policy.
